Frozen Banana and Amaretto cocktail is a fantastic summery drink! Creamy banana liqueur combined with Amaretto, Baileys, double cream and milk for that smooth and creamy texture. Additionally, dust with cinnamon to add a hint of spice.
Where do you like to spend your hot summer evenings? By the beach, pool or simply in the garden this frozen banana and amaretto cocktail will make your night unforgettable!
I have come across this recipe preparing for a BBQ party, expecting to taste more like a milkshake rather then an cocktail. Nevertheless, I was very pleasantly surprised. Sweet banana did not overpower the nutty flavour of almonds from Amaretto and by adding coffee flavoured Baileys brought out incredible chocolaty notes with a hint of spice from cinnamon.
You must try this creamy frozen amaretto cocktail!
Can you drink Amaretto on its own?
Amaretto in Italian means ‘little bitter’ and is made from almonds and apricots kernels. Furthermore, Amaretto is coming from Saronno, the Lombardy region of Italy. It has a sweet nutty flavour with a little sourness from apricots to break it down. Not only can you drink Amaretto on its own but also try it as an aperitif on the rocks.

Can I substitute the ingredients?
Lower alcohol option – substitute banana liqueur for frozen banana, just cut up the banana into small pieces before freezing. Besides, it will make it easier to blend and you will have to add a further 25ml of milk, as it will become a little thicker than the original recipe. Alternatively, you could also opt out for banana syrup. Despite the changes, this irresistible banana cocktail will be great!
Baileys – try using different flavored Baileys depending on your preference, I love coffee flavor. What about Bailey’s Salted Caramel flavor?
