I love this Sidecar Drink because it is so easy and quick to make, literally, once you have all the ingredients it will take you 3 minutes to assemble and shake!
Drink away and enjoy quality premium cocktail at your home!Â
Courvoisier Congnac has amazing woody flavours, hints of peach and dry fruit notes which goes perfectly with dried candied orange slice.
Apart from this, when combined with Cointreau, which has a hint of spice and orange flavours this Sidecar drink really comes together.Â
Why is it called a Sidecar?
This drink has originated and has been created in Ritz Hotels in Paris! Sidecar drink has been invented for an American army captain during the World War I, who named it after the motorcycle sidecar which he used.Â
what do i need to make a sidecar drink
You can buy all the ingredients right from the shop. The best thing is, you don’t need to cooking anything, just shaking it up!
Moreover, learn how to make your own sugar syrup from scratch is dead easy and simple. Additionally, I added a sugar syrup recipe in the recipe card for you!
You can use sugar syrup for many other cocktails and keep it in the cardboard for ages.Â
Lets start shaking: fill up your shaker with ice, add courvoisier, cointreau. sugar syrup and lemon juice. Why not squeeze your own lemon juice as well, only 15 ml.
Shake all the ingredient well in the shaker, open the lid and pour into martini glass. Add a slice of dry orange as a garnish and you are ready to enjoy a Sidecar Drink made at home.Â
Is Sidecar Drink Aperitif or Digestive?Â
I would recommend to have Sidecar drink as an aperitif with some olives and nuts.Â
What about a platter of our cured meat and cheese?Â
Nevertheless, try some nibbles like suppli al telefono or another delicious finger food- funghi fritti! I know some of you would prefer to use it as a digestive, due to contain of brandy. Â
Drink it as you please, as long as you enjoy a Sidecar drink!Â
For your sweet tooth I would suggest trying a lovely creamy panna cotta, low fat nutella mouse or a simple and quick recipe for polenta biscuits!Â

Hints and Tips
You don't have to make your own sugar syrup, simply buy it from any supermarket. I prefer to make it as it lasts for month, super easy to make and I can use it for other cocktail recipes. Invest in the good cocktail shaker and a few different measures. I prefer to use standard professional measures as you always get additional 15ml measure at the back of the original one. Make 2 cocktails at the same time in one shaker, just double up the recipe. Don't try to make more than 2 at the time as it will over spill.
