Chocolate and pear cake is a match made in heaven, and I think this recipe is an amazing way of showcasing these two ingredients. This pear and chocolate cake recipe has been in my black book from the beginning of my catering career, under the section DO NOT CHANGE, which for a food perfectionist it says a lot. A definite must try!
This amazingly fluffy and moist cake is perfect with a lovely hot beverage or a special occasion. Super quick and easy to make, will satisfy your sweet tooth and you will be begging for more… Serve this cake with a dollop of ice-cream, pouring cream or Chantilly cream, or have it just on its own. What ever is your preference it will be delicious!
What can I serve with chocolate and pear cake?
This chocolate and pear cake is amazing with a tea or coffee, but if you want to pimp it up, a bit of pouring cream works as well as a dollop of Chantilly cream, or ice cream. For the later I would serve the cake slightly warm, just pop it in the microwave for 20 sec.
How much do you love chocolate? If you cannot get enough, I would suggest to try a Nutella cake recipe, absolutely amazing cake!
Can you freeze pear and chocolate cake?
This cake is perfect for freezing, just ensure it is completely cool, and if your intent to eat by the slice, portion before freezing. For more information on how to keep your food fresh for longer and reduce wastage check out our post: best tips for food storage.
How long can i keep the pear chocolate cake for?
I would suggest to keep it covered in the fridge as the pear at the top tends to go off quicker than the cake if kept in the room temperature for a few days. Otherwise in the fridge should last you 5 to 6 days, if you can resist it!
